The purpose of this training module on Export Market Research is to help companies, which do not have enough experience in international trade activities, to understand the elements of export market research.

The training module proceeds as follows. The first chapter is an introduction to export market research with special focus on whether to adopt market or Product led strategies. The second chapter describes the methods used for setting marketing objectives and the third chapter gives detailed information about the main marketing tactics. The useful tools and resources are elaborated in the fourth chapter and the module concludes with the main tools used for market research purposes. In the appendix, a worksheet containing guidelines and tables for the analysis of customers (both companies and private individuals), competitors, customers’ countries and Pricing is available.
